The Quick and Dirty Facts about Badugi
The Rules of Badugi (fixed limit):
- Betting structure is the same as limit hold’em.
- There are 4 betting rounds.
- You win the pot by getting all others to fold or by having the best hand at showdown
- The hand values are unique to badugi.
Where to play Badugi Online:
- If you are not a US citizen your best options are: Pokerstars, Lock Poker and Carbon Poker
- If you are a US citizen your best options are: Lock Poker, Carbon Poker, and Aced Poker.
Elementary Badugi Strategy (in 50 words or less)
- Play low limits or low buy-in tournaments with as many players at the table as possible
- Never Bluff
- Feed the Dog until you have a Badugi
- Play only your very best hands pre-draw.
Badugi History
- Badugi is from Korea and was likely invented sometime in the 1960′s
- It has also been called Padookie (ick), Badougi (Hauser M.D.), Paldugi (but they now have cure for that), Badooki (with a pack of bubble gum).
- It was brought to the states by poker player Paul “Eskimo” Clark
- In 2008 in started being played in online poker rooms.
